Foothill Ranch-based Fujitsu announced that Fujitsu’s WT-A533 UHF RFID Linen tag has been tested by MRI test facility Magnetic Resonance Safety Testing Services (MRSTS). The test confirmed that the Fujitsu WT=A53x family is acceptable to use with all types of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems operating at 1.5- and 3-Tesla.
MRSTS was able to identify both the effects of worst case MRI exposures, as well as possible MRI issues. “We were very impressed with the Fujitsu Linen RFID Tab. The construction of the tag and selection of internal components make it ideal for use in hospital garments and linens used in and around MRI systems,” states Frank G. Shellock, PhD., Adjunct Clinical Professor of Radiology and Medicine from the University of Southern California.
